The Norwegian Veterinary Institute confirmed on June 24 that the first case of avian influenza was found on the Norwegian Islands, and this case caused people to worry about this disease that will spread among birds in the Arctic region.
According to local media reports, when the Norwegian authorities were detected in the Langyer City of the Norwegian Islands in June, they found that the seagulls were infected with high pathogenic avian flu viruses.
The Swarba Islands is located between the Norwegian continent and the Arctic, about 1,000 kilometers from the Arctic.
In a statement, Researchers Knut Madezlin, a researcher at the Norwegian Veterinary Institute, said, "This discovery is worrying because many fragile wild bird species will lay eggs and incubate on the archipelago in summer."
Madezlin pointed out that this is the first time to find a bird flu in the Arctic.
Local governments have asked the local people to contact them if they find any deadly wild birds on the island.
