Digging ruins

In a hospital in Shalan, the capital of Parki, Arup Khan, a 22 -year -old victim, said: "The situation was terrible at the time. There were crying everywhere. Several children in my house were buried in the mud."

"We all slept at home ... the roof suddenly collapsed." Another injured Guller Faraz told Reuters reporters that he and his wife and children were treated in the hospital, and some relatives were killed. "The place where we live, all the houses were shocked ... the entire area was destroyed."

Video released by the Bacht News Agency in Afghanistan showed that in the remote mountainous areas near the Pakistan border, residents were excavated in the ruins to find the remains of survivors or victims. Afghan officials said that the affected situation in the mountain villages is difficult to master immediately, and the number of victims may rise further.

Some disaster areas have just experienced heavy rain and floods before the earthquake. The earthquake triggered landslides and mudslides, hindering rescue.
