The Danish Department of Defense acknowledged that the lack of ammunition caused the cancellation of the training of soldiers stationed in Latvia and blamed this on the complex approval process and the lengthy logistics chain. However, Alexander Totslav, a military researcher at the University of Copenhagen, believes that Denmark has continued to cut military expenses in recent years and leads to insufficient ammunition reserves.
