According to the previous news of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, at 9 pm on September 22, the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia received a notification from the Cambodian Police General Administration that a shipwreck accident occurred in the waters of Sihanouk. 18 people have been rescued and properly resettled, the remaining 23 people disappeared, and two Cambodian crews were arrested. According to the rescued personnel, the staff on board departed from Guangzhou on September 11, and soon after arriving in the Western Port Sea, they encountered danger.

After receiving the notification, the Embassy in Cambodia attached great importance to it, and immediately launched the emergency work mechanism and set up a special class. Ambassador Wang Wentian deployed the Cambodian Ministry of Defense, the General Administration of Police, and the Sihanouk Provincial Government and other departments, asking Cambodia to treat people as the first priority and use all forces and means to conduct search and rescue. On the 24th, the Cambodian Central Times pointed out in the latest report that the ship was equipped with 41 Chinese citizens (including 3 women), 30 of which were rescued, 3 were killed, and 8 people were still where they were unknown.

A spokesman for the Sihanouk Provincial Government said that nine water droppers were rescued in the Vietnam waters. The spokesman pointed out that the shipwreck is located in the waters near Bazarilia and Tangdao, near the Vietnam waters.

It is reported that a rescued Chinese man Chen told the police that they departed from Guangzhou, China on September 11. On the 17th, they transferred to another fishing boat drove by two Cambodian crew members to continue sailing. The fishing vessels failed when they arrived at the waters of the West Port on the 22nd. Two Cambodian crew members contacted their colleagues and were picked up by a speedboat, leaving only them wandering at sea.
