The United States' identification of the status of the "Non -NATO" began in 1987. The United States provides military and economic privileges in the fields of national defense trade and security cooperation, but does not need to make any security commitments.
According to the U.S. State Department's website information, the "Non -NATO major allies" are eligible to apply for material loans in projects such as cooperative R & D, testing, and evaluation. They can carry out bilateral or multilateral cooperation training with the United States. Funding device and other anti -terrorism R & D projects supported by the United States obtained funding support. Enterprises in these countries can bid for maintenance or repairs of US overseas military equipment. In addition, the "Non -NATO major allies" can be used as an overseas storage point for war reserve materials owned by the United States.
As early as July 6 this year, Biden said in a letter to Congress that he would formally revoke Afghanistan as a "non -NATO allies" in the United States.

In 2012, the United States listed Afghanistan as "Non -NATO's main allies", which cleared the road for the maintenance of national defense and economic relations. This appointment was announced by then Secretary of State Hillary during the visit to Kabul, Afghanistan.
According to the United States Cable Television News Network, the status of the allies makes Afghanistan eligible to receive US military training and assistance. Even after the NATO troops leave the country, they can speed up the sales and leasing of military equipment. Last year, the U.S. military withdrew from Afghanistan and ended the war of nearly 20 years.
After the status of Afghanistan was revoked, the United States currently has 18 "Non -NATO", namely: Argentina, Australia, Barin, Brazil, Colombia, Egypt, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, New Zealand, Pakistan, the Philippines, the Philippines , Qatar, South Korea, Thailand and Tunisia. Among them, Colombia and Qatar "entered the alliance" earlier this year.
