The reporter recently discovered that when a supermarket in Berlin planned to pay for coins, he found that there was no coin port. It was learned that this was a cashless payment terminal just launched by the chain supermarket group, which has been put into use in many stores in Germany. In cities such as Berlin, Munich, more and more merchants support digital payment methods such as Apple, Google, and Bao.
For a long time, in German countries such as Germany and Austria, cash has been the mainstream payment method, and the proportion of cash -free payment has long been lower than other European countries. But this trend has gradually changed in recent years. The Federal Bank of Federal Bank's payment behavior reported in July this year reported that Germany's cash payment ratio began to decline since 2017. According to the latest statistics from the German retail industry, about 60%of the Germans currently use bank cards or smartphones to pay. This number was 56%in 2021, and only 47%before the epidemic. According to industry analysts, this change is directly related to the characteristics of merchants encouraging non -contact payment during the epidemic, and the "fast and simple" characteristics of cash -free payment. The increase in online shopping also affects payment habits.
France, Italy, Spain and other countries also have similar trends. According to the latest data from the European Central Bank, in 2021, the euro zone handled 114.2 billion in cashless payment transactions, an increase of 12.5%year -on -year, involving the transaction value of 197 trillion euros, an increase of 18.6%year -on -year. On the whole, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and other Nordic countries have no cash payment at the forefront. In the cities and villages of the Nordic countries, the logo of "only swiping cards" or "cashless" has become the standard for many businesses, and many street stalls also accept credit cards. According to data from the Swedish central bank, in the past 10 years, the proportion of Swedish residents' use of cash has dropped from 40%to 9%, and the average per -cash transaction per person has reached 260 times, far exceeding other European countries, and the overall consumption amount has been in the contract. 98%of transactions are completed by electronic payment. Sweden is one of the earliest countries in the world to try digital currency. The industry estimates that Sweden is expected to become the world's first country to enter a "cashless society".
Thanks to the stability of the financial market and the popularization of electronic equipment, some European countries such as Denmark have successively launched a series of policies, including no longer forced national retailers to accept cash. Wait. While popularizing cash -free payment, governments are also constantly strengthening relevant supervision.
