In an interview with the media on the same day, Aden was asked whether the British monarch would even cause a republic discussion in New Zealand. "I have never felt this urgency," she said, "This is a great debate. I don't think this is something that will happen soon or should happen quickly."

New Zealand is the Commonwealth country, using the constitutional monarchy, and the British monarch is the head of state. As a representative of the monarch, the Governor does not interfere with government operations.

The debate on whether New Zealand should become a republican country has been in the country for a while. Many people have called for a republic to let New Zealand citizens serve as head of state.

"I believe this is the direction of New Zealand's future development. I also believe that this will happen in my life, but I don't think this will be on the agenda in the short term." Adon said.
