The 22nd meeting of the head of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (referred to as the SCO) will be held in Samarham, Uzbekistan.

The SCO was established in Shanghai on June 15, 2001. The founding member states are China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. In 2017, the SCO organized Astana Summit decided to give India and Pakistan a member state, and the increase of member states to 8.

The total territorial area of ​​the 8 member states of the SCO exceeds three -fifths of Eurasia, and the population accounts for nearly half of the world. It is the most widely regional organization in the world today. The SCO is also the only regional international organization established in China, named after China, and headquartered in China.

The SCO has two permanent institutions, namely the secretariat of Beijing and the regional anti -terrorist institution executive committee located in the region of Tashan, Uzbekistan.

The SCO has 4 observer states in Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran, and Mongolia, and Azerbaijan, Armenia, Cambodia, Nepal, Turkey, and Sri Lanka.

The Council of the Head of State is the highest decision -making agency of the SCO. When a meeting is held once a year, decisions and instructions on all major issues in the organization are made.

Since the establishment of the SCO for 21 years, it has always maintained a healthy and stable development momentum, and successfully explored the road of cooperation and development of a new type of regional organization.
