IKEA's parent company invested in wind power to accelerate sustainable development and transformation

Xinhua News Agency, Stockholm, August 29th (Reporter Fu Yiming) The world -renowned furniture merchant Sweden IKEA Group's parent company Ingka Group announced on the 29th that it spent 58 million euros to purchase the Swedish offshore wind power development project shares to accelerate the sustainable development and transformation of the group.

Ingka Group issued a newsletter on the same day that its Ingca Investment Corporation has reached an agreement with the renewable energy company OX2 to purchase 49%of the shares of three Swedish offshore wind power development projects from the latter.After being put into operation, the total installed capacity of these projects is expected to reach 9,000 MW.

Peter Van Dapur, general manager of Ingka Investment Corporation, said in the news bulletin that the investment was part of the company's dedication to reducing the carbon emissions process.It is expected that by 2030, the company's investment in the world's global renewable energy field will increase from more than 3 billion euros to 6.5 billion euros.

It is reported that Ingka Group has 575 Typhoon Rushi turbines, 20 solar parks and about 935,000 solar panels installed in IKEA and warehouse roofs in 17 countries and regions.
