It is reported that the Central Command of the United States stated in a statement that the air strike was aimed at some "infrastructure" in Delzer, northeast of Syria, and these facilities were said to be affiliated to the Aishay Revolutionary Guards of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard. In addition, the statement also mentioned that the air strike aims to "protect the U.S. military" from the attack on the "green village" base near the Iraqi border in eastern Syria last week.

In response, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Nasser Canni responded that Iran has denied any contact with the United States' air raid target in Syria and condemned the United States that "the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria infringement against Syria's infrastructure and the people."
