According to data released by the Turkish Bureau of Statistics this month, from January to July this year, the number of real estate purchased by Russians in Turkey increased by more than 200%compared with the same period last year. And starting in April this year, the Russians have become the most purchased foreigners in Turkey. Why are the Russians who are so optimistic about Turkish real estate?

Antalia, a coastal city in southern Turkey, surpassed Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey in July this year, becoming the largest number of Turkish foreigners, and the most foreigners who bought houses in Antalia are Russians.

Recently, the reporter visited a sales office in Antalia, Turkey. Although the real estate in the sales office is still under construction, half of the apartments have been bought by Russians. The staff told reporters that Russians came to see the house every day.

According to the Turkish Bureau of Statistics, from January to July this year, the Russians bought 6877 houses in Turkey, an increase of 223.4%compared with the same period last year. In April this year, the Russians jumped into the most foreigners who bought houses in Turkey. In July of this year, the Russians bought a total of 1288 houses in Turkey, which was nearly three times the number of Iranians who ranked second.

Although Turkey has always been a favorite tourist and investment destination of Russians, since the 2015 Turkish Bureau of Statistics' website announced the ranking of foreigners, Russians have reached the top of the first time. Relevant practitioners in Turkey told reporters that ordinary Russians are now unable to fly directly in Europe and can hardly engage in any commercial financial activities in European countries.

Turkey has not joined the ranks of Western sanctions on Russia, so Turkey has become one of the replacement countries of Russians' investment in Europe.
