Former Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee member Gao Qiaozhi was arrested by the local procuratorate of Tokyo on the 17th because of suspected sponsoring companies from the Olympic Games.

According to Kyodo News, the 78 -year -old Gaoqiaozhi was suspected of taking bribes of up to 51 million yen (approximately RMB 2.56 million) in a suit giant AOKI, which was selected as the Tokyo Olympics sponsor. He was suspected of getting bribes from AOKI from October 2017 to March 2022. According to reports, Tokyo prosecutors have also arrested the former chairman of AOKI, the 83 -year -old Aoki Constitution, and two other persons related to the case.

Gaowahachi was one of the 25 executive committees of the Executive Committee of the Tokyo Olympic Committee.
