The fire in Cuba oil storage base has been extinguished

Keep a high degree of vigilance to prevent overflowing fuel and high temperature.

The Minister of Public Health of Cuba said on the 12th that the fire and the explosion caused by fires had killed 2 firefighters and 132 were injured, of which 108 were discharged. In addition, the accident also caused 14 firefighters to miss.

Miranda said the team composed of forensic medicine and professionals has entered the accident site to conduct search. Four remains have been found. The identity of these 4 remains has not been found.

The oil storage base located in the Matanas Port Industrial Zone in Matinas Province is Cuba's largest oil storage base. There are 8 oil storage tanks. One of them was hit after a lightning on the evening of the 5th. The oil storage tank has caused multiple explosions.

The oil storage base is close to Antonio Gitlas Thermal Plant, one of the main thermal power plants in Cuba. Due to the problems of fuel shortage and aging of power plant equipment, Cuba is currently tight power supply, and the country has taken electricity limit.
