According to Japan's Sankei News, on the evening of August 10, local time, a man around 20 was arrested at the gate of the US Embassy in the Metropolitan District of Tokyo.

The Police Department revealed that on the evening of August 8th, the man wandered near the US Embassy in the Metropolitan District of Tokyo. The riot police on duty found that the behavior was suspicious, and the police then took the interrogation. That night, the police found a cup wrapped in cloth from the man's pocket, which contained particles. After identification, the Police Department confirmed that these items contained a small amount of gunpowder.

The man involved said that he was a college student and lived in Osaka Prefecture. The man said, "I learned how to make explosives online, and then came here to throw them into the US Embassy."

On the 9th, the police station searched the man's home and seized the material that was believed to be the raw material of gunpowder. It is speculated that the gunpowder was made by himself, and the specific situation and motivation are under investigation. The man is currently arrested for suspected violation of the explosive control law.
