The Mongolian Railway, built by Chinese enterprises, was opened to traffic on May 31, 2017. The Mongolian Railway is about 480 kilometers in length and is the largest infrastructure project since Kenya's independence. According to the African Star Railway Operation Company, since the opening of the Mongolian Railway, the new jobs provided by the Kenyan people have covered 5 major and 123 types of work, and have recruited more than 3,000 local employees.
