In Yemen, beekeepers used to be a good business, but due to the years of warfare, the global climate change was superimposed. Now in Yemen, this traditional industry is facing a threat of disappearance.

Yemen produced a world -renowned precious honey -Sidd honey. This honey is made of Sidshu flowers growing in Yemen and Saudi Arabia. Because the collection distance is long, it can only be collected twice a year. Harvest difficulties and considered special medicinal value have made Side honey in short supply and expensive, and are considered luxury sweet products in the international market.

The United Nations said that beekeeping has played a vital role in Yemen's economy, and 100,000 households relied on beekeeping to maintain their livelihood. However, the development of this industry is now under crisis.

In the Tayz area southwest of Yemen, Beezhe said that before the civil war broke out, they managed 300 beehives, and now only 80 were left. Saisu said that in recent years, the ecosystem has been severely damaged, and there have been some weird phenomena in bee colony.

Yemen Beekeeper Saizifu: Due to multiple diseases that affect bees, the beekeeper industry is endangered. There were some diseases that were strange, and we didn't know the reason. Last week I checked 10 beehives and found that there were no bee bee.

The Red Cross International Committee stated that the armed conflict in Yemen restricted the ability of beekeepers to chase freely when the flowers were in bloom. As the temperature rises, the groundwater level decreases, and the desertification intensifies, the beekeeper has been unable to maintain his livelihood.

At present, the Red Cross International Committee is providing financial support and training to Yemen Beekeeper to help them recover and continue the local beekeeping industry. In 2021, they have helped nearly 4,000 beekeepers through relevant measures.
