South Korea's July CPI increased in nearly 24 years

Xinhua News Agency, August 2nd (Reporter Lu Rui Sun Yiran) The data released by the South Korean Department of Statistics on the 2nd shows that South Korea ’s July Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 6.3%year -on -year, a new high since November 1998.

Data show that the prices of South Korea in July were mainly pushed by industrial products and personal services.Affected by the sharp rise in the prices of petroleum products, the prices of industrial products increased by 8.9%year -on -year; personal services, including catering, and other personal services, rose 6%year -on -year.

The data also shows that the core CPI in South Korea, which excludes agricultural products and petroleum products, rose 4.5%year -on -year.

Yu Yunshan, the economic trend of the South Korean Department of Statistics, said that the prices of industrial products and personal services still maintained a higher increase, and the increase in agricultural and livestock products and hydropower prices have expanded, but external uncertain factors such as rising international oil prices have shown signs of relaxation recently.The price increase in August is expected to not further expand.
