The Japanese side said that the Guanyin statue should be returned to Japan, while the Korean side stated that the Guanyin statue was brought to Japan by the pirates during the Korean dynasty.
At the court hearing held in South Korea on the 15th, the representative of the South Korean Fushi Temple said that the Guanyin statue was originally brought to Japan by the Japanese pirates, and ownership should be returned to South Korea. In addition, the Guanyin statue also found a document with "Gaoli Rui Stone Temple in the 3rd years of the sky", indicating that the Guanyin statue was indeed owned by South Korea at first.

Guanyin Temple abbot Tianzhong Jielong attended the trial held in South Korea for the first time. He asked South Korea to return the Guanyin statue as soon as possible, and said that the monks who built the Guanyin Temple returned to Japan when they returned from the Korean Peninsula in 1527 to Japan, and they should return to the essence of theft. The next trial will be held in August. Before the end of the final trial, the Guanyin statue was kept by the South Korean government.

This Guanyin statue is called "Guanyin Bodhisattva Sit", which is 50.5 cm high and weighs 38.6 kilograms. It is the Avalokitesvara produced in the Fushi Temple in South Korea in the 14th century. The Guanyin statue was taken to Japan during the North Korean dynasty and was hidden by the Guanyin Temple in Japan. In October 2012, it was stolen by Koreans and brought back to South Korea. Since then, it has been kept by South Korea.
In the first trial judgment in January 2017, the South Korean court ruled that the Guanyin statue of the Guanyin was owned by South Korea. The court stated that the Guanyin statue has been proven to be originally owned by the South Korean Fushi Temple. The Japanese side has no evidence to prove that the Guanyin image is brought to Japan through legitimate means such as gifts or trading, and the Japanese side does not record document evidence of Guanyin's mobile experience.
