Can hepatitis B cure?

Hepatitis B has always been our stubborn opponent. I believe that there must be such patients around you, which is very unfortunately infected with viruses, leading to type B virus hepatitis.

In fact, it is not only in our country, even in the world's virus hepatitis B is a difficult problem. Globally, people who have been infected with hepatitis B virus may have reached 2 billion people, and among these people, 240 million patients have become chronic infected people.

When the surface antigen disappears, the DNA of the hepatitis B virus is not detected in our serum. This situation indicates that the virus is basically removed in the body, and it has entered a stage of basic cure.

For this stage, we call it functional healing.

In this state, hepatitis B virus can be suppressed for a long time, thereby reducing the damage of liver cells. Whether it is necrosis or liver fibrosis, it is effectively reduced, and liver failure and liver cirrhosis are rarely progressing.

It can be said that functional healing is the goal of most patients.

But how much is functional healing and completely healing?

The difference is CCCDNA in the liver tissue.

This substance is actually the original template replication of the genome RNA before hepatitis B virus. The content is not much, but it is of great significance to the copying of hepatitis B virus and the state of infection.

In clinical clinical, we also believe that only the CCCDNA in the nucleus is completely removed, and it is regarded as the ultimate goal of antiviral therapy, which is also what we call completely cure.

In theory, this state can be achieved, but in actual clinical work, in order to achieve this state, it takes a long time treatment time, and many patients cannot achieve. It's already very good.

So is it easy to achieve functional cure?

No! The situation is not as good as you think.

Second, new drug Bepirovirsen can 30%of patients achieve functional cure?

For most patients, hepatitis B virus has no way to completely remove it, and functional cure is not the state that all patients can reach.

In the past, only very few patients could achieve functional healing.

Recently, a new study shows that through a new drug, it can reach 30%of functional cure after 24 weeks, which has taken the treatment of hepatitis B patients a lot.

This drug is Bepirovirsen. It is an antisensive oligonucleotide that treats hepatitis B. After taking the medicine, it will inhibit the replication of the virus. Such drugs are also first -line drugs for patients with hepatitis B patients. However, after the continuous efforts of researchers, new drugs Bepirovirsen has been designed.

The role of this drug is very strong. Compared with other similar drugs, it can not only reduce the replication of hepatitis B virus, but also inhibit the generation of hepatitis B virus surface antigen. Under the overall action, it makes functional cure easier.

More importantly, this drug does not need to take medication for life, and many patients are good even if the drug is stopped.

According to reports currently disclosed, after receiving such drugs, only 300 mg is needed per week. For 24 weeks, 28%to 29%of patients have reached functional cure.
