Diabetes may cause corneal damage

UPI reports that in this study, scientists use neuropathy or nerve injury in the corneal cornea as representatives of systemic nerve injury.

The study includes nearly 3,500 people -21% of types of diabetes, 15% of the early period of diabetes, and 64% without any disease -researchers observed all three groups of corneal nerves.

Researchers have found that corneal nerve damage has increased simultaneously with glucose metabolic damage.
