A large -scale study recently published in "Cancer Cancer and Control" shows that eating more fish, including tuna and non -fried fish, may be related to higher malignant melanoma risk.
"Melanoma is the fifth largest common cancer in the United States. In recent decades, fish intake in the United States and Europe has increased." Eunyoung Cho The results of the relationship between the relationship are not consistent. Our discovery has determined a connection that requires further research. "
Researchers at Brown University found that compared with those who average 3.2 grams of fish per day, the risk of average 42.8 grams of fish daily increased by 22%of the risk of malignant melanoma, only abnormal cells appeared on the outer layer of the skin (that is, that is, abnormal cells (that is, The risk of 28%of the risk of melanoma or melanoma) is higher.
In order to study the relationship between fish intake and melanoma risk, the author analyzed data from 49,1367 adults recruited from all over the United States from 1995 to 1996. Participants with an average age of 62 reported the frequency and weight of them eating fried fish, non -fried fish and tuna in the previous year.
The researchers used the data obtained from the cancer registration department to calculate the incidence of melanoma within 15 years. They considers the social population factors, as well as the physical quality index of the participants, the level of sports activities, the history of smoking, daily alcohol, caffeine and calories, and the average ultraviolet radiation level of the family history of the cancer family. 5034 participants (1.0%) developed into malignant melanoma during the study, and 3284 (0.7%) participants developed into 0 phase melanoma.
Researchers have found that more non -fried fish and tuna can increase the risk of malignant melanoma and 0 -stage melanoma. Compared with the average daily intake of 0.3 grams of golden tuna, the risk of a person who has an average of 14.2 grams of tuna per day is 20%higher than the risk of malignant melanoma, and the risk of a 0 -stage melanoma is 17%. Compared with the average daily intake of 17.8 grams of non -fried fish, compared with the average daily intake of 0.3 grams of non -fried fish, the risk of malignant melanoma is 18%higher, and the risk of 0 -stage melanoma is 25%. Researchers did not find a significant relationship between eating fried fish and risk of malignant melanoma or 0 -stage melanoma.
"We speculate that the discovery may be related to pollutants in fish, such as polychromic benzene, two evil English, arsenic and mercury. The previous research found that the higher the amount of fish intake, the content of these pollutants in the body, the content of these pollutants in the body was The higher the research, the research also determines the relationship between pollutants and higher skin cancer risks. However, this study does not investigate the concentration of pollutants in the body in the body, so further research to confirm this relationship. "Cho said.
研究人员提醒说,他们的研究是观察性的,还不能得出鱼类摄入与黑色素瘤风险的因果关系结论;在分析中也没有考虑黑色素瘤的一些风险因素,如痣数、头发颜色、 Severe sunburn history and behavior related to the sun. In addition, because the average daily fish intake is calculated from the beginning of the research, it may not be able to represent the life of the participants.
The author believes that future research needs to investigate fish ingredients, which may help analyze the relationship between fish intake and melanoma risk, as well as potential biological mechanisms. At present, they do not recommend changing fish consumption.
