Type 2 diabetes has a severe burden on the health systems of various countries, and reducing the incidence needs to start with healthy living habits. Recently, "Diabetes" magazine pointed out that herpes virus infection may also lead to the onset of diabetes and deserves further attention.

Herpes virus can be divided into eight types. After infection, it is often lurking in the body. Diabetes is one of the common causes of herpes. Can herpes virus cause diabetes in turn?

German scientists conducted investigations on normal adults of 1,200 blood sugar, of which the positive rate of giant cytomegi virus antibodies reached 46%, while HSV2 positive rate was 11%. A total of 364 people appeared in 7 years later. Among them, HSV2 -positive is 59%higher than the risk of diabetes or front -drive diabetes than unintentional people, while the risk of giant cell virus -positive is 33%higher. The connection between several other viruses such as picotin, shingles virus and diabetes is not obvious.

Some studies have found that some viruses may reduce the number of pancreatic cells that produce insulin, or the virus may turn off a protein function that affects cell glucose metabolism; or chronic infection caused by HSV2 and giant cell virus Excisible with glucose metabolism, and so on.

Experts said that the best way to prevent diabetes is still a healthy and balanced diet and regular exercise. We need more research to explore the connection between herpes virus infection and diabetes, thereby guiding related public health prevention and treatment strategies, including the development of targeted virus vaccines to further reduce the risk of illness.
