Do not eat breakfast or affect children's mental health

A recent study of "Nutrition Frontier" shows that children with healthy breakfast at home are better. Although the previous research reported the important role of nutritional breakfast, this is the first study on children's and breakfast. These results provide valuable insights and suggestions for parents and their children.

The research results show that eating breakfast is not only important, but also the place where children eat breakfast and what they eat is also important. Do not eat breakfast or eat breakfast from home may increase social psychological and behavioral problems in children/adolescents.

In this study, researchers analyzed the data of the 2017 Spanish National Health Survey. This survey includes questionnaires about breakfast habits and children's social mental health, including self -esteem, emotion and anxiety. The questionnaire is completed by the child's parents or guardians, and the results include a total of 3,772 4-14 -year -old Spanish residents.

The most important result discovered by the research team is that eating breakfast away from home is almost as harmful as no breakfast at all. The author believes that this may be because going out for meals is usually not as nutritious as preparing at home.

The results also showed that coffee, milk, tea, chocolate, cocoa, yogurt, bread, toast, oatmeal and pastry are all related to lower behavioral problems. Surprisingly, eggs, cheese and ham are related to the higher risk of such problems.

The results of the study emphasized that not only need to take breakfast as part of a healthy lifestyle, but also to eat breakfast at home. In addition, in order to prevent social psychological health problems, breakfast includes dairy products and/or grain foods, and minimize animal foods with high content of saturated fat/cholesterol content, which helps reduce children's social psychological health problems.
