They asked the participants to remember the six things that happened in their lives, imagined 6 things that could happen in the future, and described everything in words. After writing the text description, the participants also reported their subjective experience of specific events. For example, how vivid this matter is, how much emotions can they feel.

The research team found that in the description of the two types of events, the details provided by patients with heart blindness are less than the control group. This seems to be caused by less visual details they write. There are no differences in the details of the details given by the two groups of details involving other senses such as smell or hearing, or the details of events and emotions.

The two groups of participants also have different ways to report the experience of memory and their imagination in the future. Compared with the control group, the report of patients with heart blindness shows that these incidents are not so vivid, and there are fewer sensory and space details. They also reported that they experienced less emotions when thinking about things.
