Recently, the topic of "long -term vegetarian can also get fatty liver" has been on Weibo hot search.
When it comes to fatty liver, we are defaulting to the oil -based, greasy and more meat to cause fatty liver, but in fact, vegetarian is also one of the culprits that cause fatty liver.
And fatty liver is no longer unique to middle -aged and elderly people, and many young people also have fatty liver. So what is the fatty liver? How should we prevent it?
What is fatty liver?
First of all, the liver is the main place for fat synthesis, utilization and transportation. Therefore, when fat transfer to the liver loses a balance, it will accumulate in the liver to form fatty liver.
Normal liver contains a small amount of fat, such as triglyceride, phospholipids, sugar fat, and cholesterol, and the weight is about 3-5%of the liver weight.
When the fat content exceeds 10%, it is mild fatty liver; 10-25%is moderate fatty liver; 25-50%is severe fatty liver.
In recent years, the incidence of fatty liver in my country has continued to rise and shows a trend of aging.
At present, the incidence of fatty liver in my country is as high as 25-35%, and about 350 million to 500 million people in the country suffer from fatty liver.
What factors may cause fatty liver?
Excessive drinking can cause alcoholic fatty liver.
Alcohol is the first killer of the liver. Long -term drinking will cause a large amount of triglyceride to accumulate in the liver, which gradually forms a fatty liver. The main cause of non -alcoholic fatty liver is because of obesity.
Does eating too much meat cause fatty liver?
We can be called a nutrient -oriented fatty liver caused by fatty liver caused by obesity, which causes excess energy intake due to excessive diet.
Excess nutrients are transformed into fat and stored, so obese patients are prone to fatty liver.
For example, various fried chicken and potato chips that are deeply loved by the public, and milk tea and cake chocolate are easily converted into triglycerides and stored in the liver, causing fatty liver.
Therefore, too much meat can indeed lead to fatty liver.
Will you not have fatty liver if you eat vegetarian?
Actually not. Not only eating more meat can cause fatty liver, even if you eat vegetarian, you may cause fatty liver.
The opposite of excessive fatty liver is just the opposite. Long -term malnutrition and lack of protein intake can lead to nutrient deficiency fatty liver. Why?
First of all, long -term vegetarians are likely to be deficient in protein in the body due to uneven nutrition, and the liver needs to help protein help. Therefore, it will cause transshipment fat disorder and cause fat to accumulate in the liver.
Secondly, compared to those who have a big fish and meat, vegetarians are often more likely to feel hungry. The human digestive system will stimulate the body to eat more white rice, bread, biscuits and other carbohydrates to increase satiety.
Although they are not meat, there are a lot of calories, and carbohydrates can be transformed into fat and stored in the liver, so it is not to eat fat to cause fatty liver.
What are the dangers of fatty liver?
Although the incidence of fatty liver is increasing, everyone's importance to it is far from keeping up.
However, if the development of fatty liver is developed, it will appear to irreversible fibrosis within 10-15 years. About 25%of simple fatty liver can cause fatty hepatitis. 25-50%of fat hepatitis can lead to liver fibrosis. 15- 30%of liver fibrosis can cause liver cirrhosis, and 20-30%of fatty liver cirrhosis can progress as liver cancer.
Not only that, fatty liver can also cause various complications, such as fatty liver caused by long -term drinking, which often cause alcoholic hepatitis, cirrhosis, pancreatitis and other diseases.
In addition, fatty liver caused by excess nutrition can cause complications such as diabetes, hyperlipidemia, obesity, and coronary heart disease.
How should we treat fatty liver?
Early mild and simple fatty liver can achieve good therapeutic effects through weight loss, adjustment of diet structure and active exercise, and these practices are also a strategy to prevent fatty liver.
1. Control the diet, eat seven minutes per meal;
2. Adjust the diet structure, eat more coarse grains, vegetables, eat less fried, red meat, avoid cream, cheese and other foods, and do not drink. If you are a vegetarian, you must ensure sufficient protein intake;
3. Try not to eat as much as possible before going to bed, eat less or try not to eat snacks, drink less fruit milk and sugar drinks;
4. Note that some fruits also contain a lot of sugar. Too much eating can cause blood sugar and blood lipids to rise for a long time. You can choose fruits with less sugar, such as apples, vegetables such as cucumber, tomato, etc.;
5. Do not take liver preservation medicine by yourself. You must avoid or use less drugs that are damaged to the liver;
6. Keep exercise at least 3 and a half hours a week.
In the medium term, fat patients need to improve their lifestyle on the one hand, and on the other hand, they should be treated with appropriate drugs according to specific circumstances. But there is no particularly effective treatment for fatty liver.
Patients with severe fatty liver are almost irreversible and may progress as severe diseases such as liver fibrosis and liver cirrhosis.
Therefore, for fatty liver, early prevention and early treatment are the best choice.
