French Liberty News: French director Godal, one of the founders of French new wave film, died at the age of 91.

Jean Luc Godal was born on December 3, 1930 in Paris, France. Both parents have dual nationality in France and Switzerland. His father is a doctor and his mother is the daughter of Swiss bankers.

Godal lived in Switzerland in his early years. He was educated in Nion in Switzerland. He returned to Paris when he was 18 years old. He was in high school in France. He had his director's career, and he also won the 10th Berlin International Film Festival Silver Bear Award-Best Director Award for the film.

In 1962, he won the Special Award of the 27th Venice International Film Festival with the plot "Whatever Woman". In 1965, he directed the criminal film "Madman Pierra", which won the Golden Lion Award of the 30th Venice International Film Festival. In 1983, he directed the love comedy "Fang Ming Carmen" and won the Golden Lion Award of the 40th Venice International Film Festival.

Godal's films are usually regarded as challenging and competing to the shooting method and narrative style of Hollywood movies. He also injected his thoughts and rich knowledge about the history of film development into his movie.
