The film will be the fourth literary work of Rao Xueman on the big screen. The original author Rao Xueman personally played the screenwriter, directed by the young director Wen Jing.

The original novel of "Hourglass" was published in 2007. "Hourglass" tells the story of the two hostess Mo Xing and Micha's sincere friendship, and the emotional entanglement between the two and the senior Lu Li. This series of books created more than 40 million copies of sales miracles, and "Hourglass" has therefore become one of the most popular youth literature IPs with film and television adaptation.

Director Wen Jing graduated from the New York Film Academy.
