Nangwai "poor students" who do not take ordinary roads
Zhuo Yangsheng is an ordinary knowledge family in Nanjing. Affected by her parents, she has been interested in the knowledge of natural sciences from a young age. She dreams of becoming an adventurer like the host of the Australian animal program Steve Owen. However, like most of her parents, her parents hoped that she would follow the mainstream to look forward to studying and study, and has a stable future. She also lived up to the training of her parents. In 2001, she was admitted to Nanjing's best middle school -Nanjing Foreign Language School. But it was surprising that her performance in Southwai had a landslide, and a difficult time was spent between a crowd of elite students, and her dream was once dusty. But Nanwai also gave her a precious international perspective, and the interest and ambitions that were not constrained by scores. She began to read a lot in a loose atmosphere, published prose in the school's "Sea Wide Sky" as the origin of her on the artistic path.
In the first year of high school, she moved to Shanghai with her father's work and was admitted to East China Normal University. In her sophomore year, she encountered an opportunity to go abroad: the departments of her own department had a project to communicate in Australia. However, this project has only 2-3 places, and the deadline for the distance was only half a month. To overcome TOEFL within half a month, she learned nothing; if the TOEFL test position was short, she flew to Hainan to take the test. In the end, she successfully flew to the other side of the ocean. During the exchange of Australia, she was no longer limited by the original profession. She turned to the media that she had been interested in, and chose the three courses of media writing, script writing and interviews. And this time the study of abroad seems to be a key, and opened the drawer of the dream of Zhuang Zhuoyang's childhood- "I want to be a natural documentary."
Due to the hopes to try to widely try different education systems, Zhuo Yang transferred to the University of Virginia to study media in the United States, and participated in the "Maritime Institute" study tour program. He was able to cross the Atlantic Ocean and travel the Mediterranean on the ship, while studying knowledge related to local culture. It was also on the boat, Zhuo Yang began to pick up the camera and practice shooting documentary. By the time of graduation, Zhuo Yang had studied five continents during the undergraduate.

From a documentary to a story film, don’t forget the original intention
After graduating from undergraduate undergraduate in 2013, he went to the Smithsonni National Natural History Museum in the United States, becoming the first Chinese to serve as a video producer for the museum. What she wants to do is to show the research results of scientists behind the museum in the form of multimedia interaction, so that everyone is more interested in science. This job can be a dream to come true for her since she was a child.
Zhuo Yang is responsible for a new exhibition area called "Q? RIUS" in the museum. The audience is mainly teenagers. The National Natural History Museum of the United States is not only an exhibition space, but also a scientific research institution. There are many scientific research behind the scenes that are worth seeing the public and stimulate children's interest in learning science. The video she made has become part of the museum's propaganda materials, helping to get the largest donation of $ 75 million in history; her video has 8 million visitors in the museum every year and is still playing.
She is more and more handy about making documentaries. One year later, she chose to return to China from scratch and become a free professional director. With the accumulation and hard work of three years, she served as the director of the "Gannan Memory" diversity in the Chinese cuisine documentary "House Canteen" in China. After being broadcast on Shenzhen Satellite TV, the "Gannan Memory" achieved a lot of results. It got the first national ratings in the country's golden time.
When you come here, Zhuo Yang can finally convince traditional parents with strength, and girls can also succeed on this "non -mainstream" road. But she did not choose to stay in the comfort zone, but continued to explore and adventure. In 2017, she returned to the United States to study and tried to break through herself. She obtained a dual degree from New York University MBA (Industrial and Commercial Management)/MFA (Movie), becoming the first mainland student admitted to this project. She hopes that while having artistic creative ability, she can also grasp the right to speak. Zhuo Yang is shooting works
During her school, she filmed her first story short film "Mother Tongue", showing the mother -daughter relationship between the mother and daughter of the Chinese immigrant family in the poetic lens language. "Mother's Memorial" is premiered in the United States' largest Asian Film Festival, the Asian Media Center Film Festival, and meets the audience in a total of 15 international film festivals in the United Kingdom, Canada, South Korea. The most emotional thing is that in May of this year, she returned to the mother tongue film festival hosted by Smithsonni College with "Mother Tongue", just like everything drew a circle and returned to the initial starting point of her dream.
After graduating, she chose another way to go -on the one hand, she worked in a world -class management consulting company in the United States, while continuing to explore art. Among the continuous cross -border over the years, she has already become a natural "slope youth".

Cross -cultural anti -war story "Night Airlines Dongdu"
"Last Ship East" is Zhuo Yang's latest short film project. It tells the story of the eight -year -old Jewish refugee Hannah. But they don't know that when Japan joined the axis country, their friendship would change tremendous changes.
Zhuo Yang has always hoped that the history of the Nanjing Massacre of the Japanese Army will be traced back on the international stage, allowing Western audiences to understand the suffering caused by the Japanese invasion of China, and the far -reaching impact on the entire world. And as a Chinese who lives overseas, she is committed to exploring cross -cultural connections and connects audiences with different backgrounds through stories.
On the eve of the Nanjing Massacre, Zhuo Yang's grandmother was a six -year -old girl. She and her father escaped from Nanjing City, all the way to Wuhan, where she met a kind person to Hong Kong, and took the auto boat in Hong Kong to the safe Hong Kong and Shanghai at that time. Zhuo Yang saw the same experience as Shanghai Jewish refugees in her grandmother -the collective trauma of war not only belongs to a specific nation, but a universal human theme, namely mourning, struggle, and hope. "I hope that through the eyes of children," Night Air East "can explore the intersection of Asia and Jewish culture and let the audience reflect on the trauma brought by the war."
Zhuo Yang has created the script of "Night Airlines East" since 2021, and is currently raising funds for this project. In the process, she interviewed Shanghai refugees and their relatives that year, and did a lot of research with scholars focusing on this field to ensure the accuracy of historical facts and cultural accuracy. Support of non -profit organizations. In the next step, she hopes that more Chinese researchers and organizations will join in, so that the project itself will also become a bridge for cultural exchanges.
In July of this year, the 24th Los Angeles Short Film International Film Festival said in the best script award of "Night Air East": "We think your script represents the highest criterion for art works, and we are proud. La Shorts has your participation, we wish you all the best in the future work. "
