The 12th Beijing International Film Festival, which was guided by the National Film Bureau and sponsored by the Central Radio and Television General Station and the Beijing Municipal People's Government, opened at the Beijing Yanqi Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center.

The theme of this year's Beijing International Film Festival is "Tongxin · Du Xing", which invites global filmmakers to join hands with new weather and new movements to engrave the extraordinary development process. The number of global registered films of the "Tiantan Award" of the International Film Festival reached 1,450, an increase of 63%over last year. Among them, there were 1,193 foreign films, from 88 countries and regions.
