The only one in Asia: Jiaotong University Tang Yaoqi was selected as Optica Female Scholars Scholarship List

Recently, the Optica (formerly American Optical Society OSA) Foundation announced the first "Optica Female Scholars Scholarship" award list. Tang Yaoqi, a master of electronic information and electrical engineering, was successfully selected. She was the only Asian student who won awards. A total of 20 outstanding female students in the field of optics have won the scholarship. Tang Yaoqi's mentor is Ling Yuzhang, an associate professor of the Teaching Rail of the Electrical Institute John Hopcrovt Computer Science.

The first Optica female scholarship (Optica Women School) was launched in January 2022 and received hundreds of applications from 36 countries and regions around the world. About Tang Yaoqi

Tang Yaoqi, a master's degree in electronic information in the Electronics Academy, is a medical image processing. Tang Yaoqi proposed an algorithm framework that combines traditional methods and deep learning methods. It uses multi -scale image feature information to repair the widespread pseudo -shadow in the retina OCT image. The performance of subsequent retinal segmentation algorithms is of great value for real -time clinical medical applications including various ophthalmic diseases including glaucoma. At the same time, Tang Yaoqi published academic papers as the first author during the first grade of a master's degree, and won the first place in the field of image processing in the MEDICAL Imaging 2022 hosted by the SPIE Society SPIE.

Regarding the future, Tang Yaoqi hopes to better combine optical related physical principles with the powerful computing and processing capabilities of artificial intelligence to establish a structure of multi -modal medical image removal to promote intelligent and effective medical diagnosis and treatment.
