Master of our school published papers on the top -level conference in the field of computer vision for the first time

From June 21st to 24th, IEEE/CVF Computer Vision and Patternition Conference (CVPR) was held in New Orleans, USA. Professor Ning Jifeng of our school published a research paper entitled "Geometric Structure Preserving WARP for Natural Image Stitching" at the meeting. Du Peng, a master of our school, is the first author, and Professor Ning Jifeng is the author of the paper.
The large -scale geometric structure in the protection scene plays an important role in image stitching. Most of the existing methods ignore the large -scale layout reflected by the straight line or curve, and reduce the overall stitching quality. To solve this problem, the author of the thesis proposes a splicing method to protect the geometric structure. The panoramic images produced have natural visual effects and less distortion. The proposed method first uses a deep -learning edge detection method to extract various types of large -scale edges. Then, the extraction edges are sampled to build multiple groups of triangles to represent the geometric structure. At the same time, a geometric structure protection (GES) energy item is introduced to make these triangles similar to. On this basis, reasonably determine the weight of the sampling point in the geometric structure, further optimize the GES energy item, and realize the smooth transition between local alignment and geometric structure. Add this energy item to the GSP splicing model, and finally get the image stitching model GES-GSP proposed in this article. By comprehensive experiments on the stitching data set, the effectiveness of the GES-GSP algorithm is verified. The experimental results show that the method is better than the existing representative method in protecting the geometric structure and obtains more natural splicing results.
CVPR is the number one international conference in the field of computer vision, and it is also a class A conference on artificial intelligence recommended by the China Computer Society (CCF). According to the 2021 Google academic journal and conference influence list, IEEEECVPR ranks fourth in the world and has a strong academic influence.
