In the eyes of many people, agricultural technology is not "tall" at all. But as agricultural science and technology workers, our scientific research inspiration and beliefs are to use science and technology to achieve the modern development of agriculture. Therefore, my primary task is to guide students to know and love farmers.

I have recruited a doctoral student. His research in the field of biological information technology is excellent, but he has always suffered from the way to docking with real problems. In other words, he didn't know how to "solve the problem." So I took him to the field and brought them to different areas where wheat rust occurred. After a detailed observation, he realized that in the face of this pest, he should stand at a national perspective and carry out research work from the perspective of "big group".

As a result, he discovered the way to combine the theory he learned with the national pest control needs. Today, the doctoral students who have found a scientific research direction have studied in school, and they are full of energy until today.

Over the years, whether in the face of undergraduate students, masters or doctoral students, I will talk to them about the topic of food production and agricultural safety in my country, so that they really realize that the improvement of the health of the people's life is closely related to the majors we have learned. Connect.

Many years ago, I found that there were signs of rust in the wheat field, and then they called the team of the team. Although it was a holiday at the time, we had almost no rest, but used the entire holiday in the wheat field. When they came to the field, they saw the plant diseases and insect pests, and when they saw what the farmland had not been resolved, they would think about what we were going to do. For them, this is a good guidance and inspiration.

Among these students, there is a master student named Wang Xiaojie. This time, Shimoda let him truly see the serious harm of rust to the wheat field, strengthen his determination to join agricultural technology, and also open the teacher and apprenticeship between us.

"Don't be afraid, do it with peace of mind"

Wang Xiaojie was the first batch of master students recruited from Germany to visit scholars in 2001. At that time, the application of molecular biology in the field of agriculture just started internationally, but I have noticed that the research prospects in this area are very broad, so I encourage students to carry out research on this research.

However, these studies are very expensive. A box of reagents that can only do four or five experiments take 30,000 yuan. Among them, any step is wrong, and the entire experiment must be scrapped. I can clearly see that students have a lot of pressure on this, especially Wang Xiaojie, who is born in rural dolls, for fear that the experiment fails due to his mistakes, causing funds to waste.

So I said to him, "Don't be afraid, do it with confidence! How much money should be spent, even if 100,000 yuan or 200,000 yuan, we must finish research."

It is with such encouragement that the students gradually let go of their psychological burden. After more than ten years of unremitting struggle, our team has achieved many major world -leading achievements in this regard. Wang Xiaojie has grown into a leading talent for the innovation of scientific and technological innovation in the country.

In my opinion, in the road of scientific research, it is impossible for everyone to fail, and it is impossible to make mistakes, especially students. As a teacher, you must learn the failure and mistakes of tolerant students. When students face these setbacks, they do not put pressure on them, let alone fight and blame, but to encourage them to learn from experience and continue fighting in failure.

Many years ago, the laboratory purchased an ultra -low temperature refrigerator to store experimental materials. One night, a student accidentally touched a button at the bottom of the refrigerator during operation, which caused all the materials stored in the refrigerator the next day. Seeing these, there will be regret or even anger in their hearts, and I am no exception. But when I saw the students regret, I still tried to suppress my emotions. While arranging the students to check whether there was any available materials, I comforted the students and told him to be careful in the future.

Of course, such tolerance does not apply to all situations. For example, in the field of scientific research, my requirements are very strict, and students are not allowed to have a traceless behavior, let alone the departure of academic integrity. This is completely different from the failure of the scientific research and inadvertent of tolerance students.

Inheritance of the spirit of educating people from generation to generation

It was in such an environment that Wang Xiaojie finished his master's and doctoral degree in my team, and finally stayed in school and became a colleague with me.

After he stayed in school, I had a in -depth exchange with him. I told him: "You are different now, you are a teacher. You have to convert your identity and role. College is a place for cultivating talents. Training talents not only teach them to do experiments and research, but also overall shape, especially in the whole, especially in the fact that in it, especially in Being a person, you can't let others pick out a big problem on your students. "

I also told him that scientific research will definitely fail, to tolerate the failure of students, and to continuously encourage them. Anyone has shortcomings, and there must be its flash point. We must try to discover these flash points because each student is a treasure.

What I was pleased was that over the years, Wang Xiaojie has not disappointed my hope. Today, through his own efforts, he has not only achieved good results in scientific research, but also became the "brother" respected and liked by the students. In my opinion, as a teacher, the most important thing is how to determine your own positioning, do you position yourself as a student's "superior" and "leader", or treat them as your "fellow travelers on scientific research and teaching. "This is important. If a teacher's positioning of himself is the former, it determines that it cannot be tolerant of students, and it is even more difficult to find the flash point on the students. On the contrary, if the positioning as the latter, the teacher -student relationship must be harmonious. Only then will really get the love of students.
