Ministry of Education: The cumulative investment in the central government has invested 711.86 billion yuan to improve the conditions of school running

The Ministry of Education held a press conference today (September 15). The relevant person in charge introduced that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the central government has invested a total of 71186 billion yuan to continuously strengthen the guarantee of the basic conditions of ordinary high schools. The school construction investment has significantly improved the school's school running conditions.

According to reports, over the past ten years, the resources of ordinary high school buildings have increased rapidly. In 2021, the construction area of ​​ordinary high school buildings nationwide reached 640 million square meters, an increase of 220 million square meters from 2012 and an increase of 52.38%.

The proportion of large classes decreased significantly. The proportion of 56 people in ordinary high schools across the country decreased from 47.8%in 2012 to 4.81%in 2021, a decrease of 43 percentage points. The allocation system for public funding for students is fully established. In 2019, the state has formulated the standards of allocation of ordinary high school students for public expenses for the first time. As of now, ordinary high school students in various provinces (autonomous regions and cities) nationwide have publicized funding standards for ordinary high school students. The requirements of more than 1,000 yuan have effectively ensured the normal operation of the school.

Teachers have continued to increase their efforts, and the students' ratio is optimized from 15.47: 1 in 2012 to 12.84: 1, which effectively alleviates the tensions faced by the comprehensive reform of the college entrance examination.
