"Flowers outside the wall" is a normal phenomenon in nature, but if it is metaphorized to the university's liberal artist group, it has a special meaning.

In this metaphor, the names of the "inside of the wall" and "outside the wall" refer to the names and outside the school, including both domestic and foreign and foreign.

There are generally many disciplines such as literature, science, and work in universities. Even traditional liberal arts universities are mostly developing in multi -subject or comprehensive direction.

Among these universities, in addition to individual school -level leaders and part -time jobs at school -level academic organizations, they work in the field of disciplines, and they are mostly limited to this discipline.

Therefore, most teachers are obscure in school. This makes it easy for the "flowers outside the wall to flowering walls" to become a "normal", and the better the university, the more obvious this phenomenon will be.

Three types of liberal arts professors

The author has worked part -time in the school's scientific research management department for nearly 20 years, and has the opportunity to come into contact with many teachers of different disciplines. In the meantime, he also went to the conference or negotiating projects with professors from different liberal arts majors in our school. In this process, I found that the liberal arts professor can be roughly classified as three categories.

The first category is to be unknown in the school but well -known outside the school. It is well recognized by peers or industry, that is, the so -called "Flower incense outside the wall" professor; "Limited power", the discipline "Da La" does not know much, that is, the professor of "Flower in the Wall in the Wall" professor. The division of the above three types of professors is also consistent with the three status of the liberal arts, but the type of professor does not correspond to the subject status. Although it has not been rigorously calculated, from the perspective of experience, the first type of professor of good universities is the most, the second category is the second, and the third category is the least; the discipline conditions are roughly the same.

The difference between the "inside of the wall" and "outside the wall" is both the characteristics of the person and the characteristics of the discipline.

The former is mainly reflected in the strength and status of different types of professors in the field of this discipline, and it is also related to the volume of its subject.

Specifically, the first type of professor mainly exists in the disciplines with a small volume or smaller, and the contribution to the school is not significant. A certain degree of display; the third class of professors mainly exist in large volume disciplines, and contribute to the school in the school.

The latter is relatively simple. In the history of discipline attributes and the history of school running, social sciences are more display than humanistic disciplines. In contrast, the discipline position within the university is determined by the academic level of scholars and is also related to the volume of disciplines. The present is more related to whether it is a key discipline or first -class discipline.

Generally speaking, if a subject is a key discipline or first -class discipline, there is a certain volume, and there are several high -level scholars, it will have a certain degree of display in the school, and it is unlikely that "the incense of the wall in the wall" will appear. The phenomenon; the relatively large volume, a discipline with a part -time job in school or a significant contribution to the school service, the probability of this phenomenon will not be too large; Disciplines, because of insufficient display degree of contributions in the school, are more prone to "flowering outside the wall" phenomenon.

For truly powerful individual scholars, their strength and influence are often expanded from outside school to the school, that is, from "outside the wall" to "inside and outside the wall".

In an era of less information, scholars or disciplines are usually prone to "flowering in the wall in the wall". Only those scholars with a higher part -time or more activity, as well as the disciplines with a larger contribution to their schools will it Avoid the emergence of this phenomenon.

However, today, with the high degree of information, the disciplines and individual scholars who are good at promoting the media can avoid the phenomenon of "flowering outside the wall" to a fairly extent.

The phenomenon of "flowering inside the wall" should be avoided

"Internal incense in the wall" and "outside the wall" may be both "real image" or "virtual image". As mentioned earlier, the status and influence of scholars are first reflected in the field of discipline. It is often the first manifestation of "flowering in the wall in the wall". Only when its influence is large enough can it be in the "inside of the wall". Fragrant.

For example, if an individual scholar has a national talent "hat", or a major national award, or a number of school commendations due to external evaluations, it will naturally be fragrant through the "wall" by reports from inside and outside the school. The status and influence of the discipline also shows the same logic, that is, the fragrance of "outside the wall" is first expanded to the "wall".

Since the 1980s, there have been university rankings in the international university, which has been introduced to our country. Since then, various assessments for colleges and disciplines have appeared. These are constantly strengthening the degree of discipline.

In this context, domestic universities have been involved in it, and those "famous" disciplines on the list will naturally no longer appear "flowering outside the wall". However, there is no necessity that the discipline without "listing" is not strong.

In other words, the discipline that is not fragrant in the "wall" may be based on various reasons, and it is necessary to carefully analyze and treat it.

The same is true of individual scholars. For scholars who have no talent "hats", no major awards, are not active in school but well -known in the field of discipline, the school should also carefully analyze and treat it.

Most of them have become professors of "flowering walls outside the wall" due to age or because they do not pay attention to hard indicators. The so -called "flowering wall in the wall" reflects the status of scholars or disciplines in the "inside of the wall". For "virtual image".

Therefore, I hope that university scholars and managers can develop through the "real image" and "virtual image" of the development of liberal arts, and try their best to avoid the university liberal arts phenomenon that "flowers in the wall in the wall". The disciplines or scholars who are not fragrant provides sufficient development resources.

In fact, the emergence of this phenomenon is not only related to the long -term "heavy text" formed, but also the main reflection of the science and engineering indicators, so that university scholars and managers are "only the list."

Therefore, the disciplinary status is higher than that in the country, and its influence is greater than that in the country, which is really significant. Status and influence depends on contribution as support, and the real status and influence are regardless of "inside of the wall" and "outside the wall".

In short, the university liberal arts phenomenon of "flowering walls inside the wall", the university discipline governance problem refracted behind it should cause scholars and managers to consider carefully.
