Li Xiaoyong, deputy director of the Department of Basic Education of the Ministry of Education, introduced that in the past ten years, the country has continuously implemented the normal high school reconstruction plan and the weak education foundation of ordinary high school construction projects. It has significantly improved the school's school running conditions, and created favorable conditions for deepening education and teaching reform and implementing class selection teaching.

He introduced that in 2021, the construction area of ​​ordinary high school buildings across the country reached 640 million square meters, an increase of 220 million square meters over 2012. The proportion of large classes has dropped sharply, and the proportion of 56 people in ordinary high schools across the country decreased from 47.8%in 2012 to 4.81%in 2021. The average public funding system has been established. As of now, the standards of ordinary high school students in various provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) across the country have reached more than 1,000 yuan, which effectively guarantees the normal operation of the school. Teachers have continued to increase their efforts, and the total number of full -time teachers in ordinary high schools has increased significantly, from 1.595 million to 2.283 million, effectively alleviating the tension between teachers facing the comprehensive reform of the college entrance examination.
