As the earliest proposal and technical decision maker in China, he led the team to develop the development of water sound positioning systems and laid a solid foundation for major projects such as the "Dragon" manned submersible positioning system. He closely combined the curriculum construction with the ideological and political construction, and regarded water acoustics as a battlefield that meets the needs of major national strategic needs, led students to strengthen basic research, fully attack key technologies, and made important contributions to the development of China's water sound industry. He has won honors such as outstanding teachers in the country, outstanding scientific and technological workers in the country, and famous teachers of ideological and political teaching in national curriculum.

According to reports, since 2010, the Ministry of Education, together with relevant units, has selected a model for educating people every year. Since 2020, the Ministry of Propaganda and the Ministry of Education jointly promoted and recognized the model of teaching and educating people across the country to further enhance the promotion and commendation of outstanding teachers.
