Seeing all my classmates, I can't help but think of the scene of our enrollment. Time passes so fast, next year will be our 50th anniversary of the enrollment of our students. In these half a century, I have experienced a lot of experience, I have been to many places, and I have spoke at the opening ceremony of many universities. But for me, the University of Science and Technology is unique -because only in this campus, I feel that I have changed back to the original student again.

Today, I don't want to talk about my own experience. I just want to bring my classmates to know a teacher who has died, Mr. Bei Shizhen, the founder of Chinese biophysics.

I graduated from the Department of Physics of the Department of Physics of the University of Science and Technology of China. It was formerly known as the Department of Biophysics of the University of Science and Technology of China and 12 departments. It was created by Mr. Bei. Mr. Bei was the first academician of the "Central Research Institute" selected in 1948 and the longest -lived academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2009, he died at the age of 107.

Mr. Bei became famous for embryonics and cell biology. In 1958, he founded the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Department of Biology of the University of Science and Technology of China. Mr. Bei has organized the fields of radiological biology, cosmic biology, bionics, biological engineering technology, biological control theory and other branches. Starting from the first nuclear test in my country in 1964, animal experiments were carried out at the nuclear explosion site of the 6 nuclear tests, and the research on these animal nuclear radiation effects lasted 20 years. Everyone is familiar with astronauts today, but the earliest "astronauts" are actually animals rather than humans. These studies are national secrets and cannot publish papers. The outside world knows nothing about it. There is no spiritual, love, and dedication of scientists. It is Mr. Bi and other predecessors who have been obscure that they have made the earliest biophysics backbone talents in my country, and have also achieved our leading position in this field today. After graduating from the University of Science and Technology, I was fortunate to be assigned to Mr. Bioshi's Institute of Biophysics, the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which Mr. Bei, and then admitted to the graduate student of Academician Liang Dongcai and became Mr. Liang's opening disciple. I am lucky, because whether it is at the Chinese University of Science and Technology and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, it is along the road created by Mr. Bei Shizhen. A few years ago, as the leader of the preparatory work group, I participated in the preparation of the Ministry of Life Science and Medicine of the Chinese University of Science and Technology; my research group was ordered in 2003 to analyze the first SARS virus protein three -dimensional space structure in the world; in 2020 The new coronary pneumonia's epidemic has also reported the first two core antiviral drug targets.

I am always worried that today's young people grow up under the conditions of more comfortable than their predecessors, but just when they grow up, they must encounter all kinds of difficulties that cannot be controlled. I don't want to tell everyone warmly that it doesn't matter, because this is a challenge that everyone must welcome. When I was young, I also encountered difficulties. Before I arrived at the University of Science and Technology, I made educated youths in the countryside. For 5 years, I planted rice to insert rice, farming fields, cow -raising ducks, and picking rivers. At that time, if I was a pessimist, I would only usher in a greater tragedy.

Each generation has the encounters of each generation. Our so -called life experience is not applicable to everyone. The opening ceremony is often an adult ceremony. From today, everyone needs to consider how to live their own lives as adults.
