In 2022, Peking University admitted a total of 4,457 undergraduate freshmen, including 3066 undergraduate freshmen (including 2,994 general undergraduates in the Mainland, 72 Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students). They were from 953 middle schools across the country. 367 international students in each country and region, as well as 100 second degree students in software engineering.
