He urged the Japanese government to reiterate a Chinese principle and call on the two countries to have more political dialogue.

Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Kishida recently compared Russia's special military operations at the Shangri -La dialogue in Singapore, claiming that "Tomorrow's East Asia may be the second Ukraine."

In this regard, Hatoyama refuted at the forum that Kishida's remarks were "completely running against the facts." He pointed out that through rendering "differences and values", the Japanese government has exacerbated the confrontation between the two sides.

As a firm ally in the United States, Japan is actively participating in the multilateral mechanism of the United States, including the US, Japan, India, and Australia's "Quad" (QUAD), and the "India-Pacific Economic Framework". Hatoyama pointed out that this has constituted "the surround of China."

"Some Japanese and Americans think that China is challenging the current international order." Hatoyama believes that this idea is very ridiculous. He pointed out that if China really wants to destroy international order, it will be worthless, and China has become an important member of the current international order.

He believes that if Japan can effectively improve relations with China and get out of the current vicious circle, it will be Japan's greatest contribution to world peace.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the normalization of China -Japan diplomatic relations. Hatoyama said that the United States and Japan should work hard to ease the tension with China, especially on the issue of Taiwan. He urged the United States and Japan to reiterate a Chinese policy to avoid a tragedy of military conflict in the Taiwan Strait.

Hatoyama said that there are differences between the two independent countries, but as a reason for not communicating, it is a negligence of diplomacy. "Once the situation is upgraded, the communication between Japan and the middle will be even more difficult. He proposed to establish a regular meeting mechanism, "Even if online meetings are held, it will be good, so that when the atmosphere improves, we can start the conversation again."
