Tong Shu calendar: Who is weaving colorful dreams for children?

This illustration was published in 1876 from the picture book "Dahi's Holiday". It tells the story of a pet dog Daxi who lives in the center of London. While the hostess goes out, he visits his cousin in the countryside.

The yellow puppy sitting on the right side of the illustration is the protagonist Daxi. The white puppy wearing a red dress and pouring the water on the left, the cousin of Daxi, Miss Blaide.

This children's book was published by Fedrick Wayne. Press was founded in 1865 and released hundreds of children's books. "Dahi's Holiday" is one of the "Wayne Toy Book" series. This series of books is large, with thick card paper printing, each with 6 to 8 pages of color illustrations. Although the length is about 20 pages, it has won the love of many children with the delicate texture.

The most famous work of Wayne is Bicudis Potter's "Peter Rabbit" series. More than a hundred years have passed, and small readers around the world still love Peter Rabbit. In 1983, Penguin Publishing House acquired Vorne and continued to weave colorful dreams for children.
