On June 27, the 2022 World Canal City Forum jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province opened in Yangzhou. The "World Canal Dictionary" published by Nanjing University Press was launched globally on the forum to present the 15th anniversary of the World Canal City Forum.

Entrusted by the World Canal Historical and Cultural Urban Cooperation Organization (WCCO), professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Foreign Languages ​​of Nanjing University, and Wei Xiangqing, director of the Bilingual Dictionary Research Center of Nanjing University, led the team to compile the "World Canal Dictionary", including about 1,100 world known canal, 68 major canals in the world, with a total length of 1.17 million words. It is the first canal dictionary to systematically sort out the world canal. It is also the first bilingual canal specialty dictionary.
