This illustration is from the Andersen's fairy tales published in 1929. The creators are two female painters, Catherine Perodeli and Elizabeth Erland.This fairy tale tells the story of the little girl Gelda bravely running into the palace of Queen Bai Xue, and successfully rescued the cursed good friend Gay.
As one of the most classic works of Andersen, "Queen White Snow" has been remake into movies and animations by many countries, including "Frozen".
In 1956, in order to commemorate Andersen's outstanding contributions in the field of fairy tales, the International Children's Books Alliance set up a Andersen Award to reward outstanding children's book writers and illustrators from all over the world.
