This building was built in 1927 by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, Zeng Guo has been invested and built. Several transformations in history

In 1988, Siming Cinema carried out the first renovation and reinforcement, and opened to the public during the Spring Festival in January 1990. In 1991, the revenue of Siming Cinema exceeded 1 million yuan, and for the first time became a "box office income of a million yuan theater".

In April 2021, Siming Cinema was listed as the fifth batch of historical buildings in Xiamen.
