The British Guardian reported that for decades, the painter and the drawer asked friends and family to sit down every week to his portrait -until the blockade made him no nanny. On the contrary, he found inspiration from his own characteristics and created a series of important self -portraits. He told the "Observer" that although he was not interested in his face before, aging made it more eye -catching.

"I did paint one or two self -portraits before, but I always felt that self -portrait was a bit mediocre," he said. "When I was younger, smoother, and less tired, I didn't find that the real formal component in my brain was so interesting.
