This print is from the Palestinian travel series of Scottish painter David Roberts. It was created in the mid -19th century. The picture depicts the Cairo's silk trading market. People gather under a bargaining building.

In 1838, Roberts traveled to Egypt, Nubia, Sinai Peninsula, Holy Land, Jordan and Lebanon, and created a large number of sketches and watercolor paintings.This series of works later gathered into a book, becoming one of the most expensive publications in the 19th century, and also the artistic masterpiece of the Victorian era.
