The Chinese Writers Association issued a explanation on the development of membership in 2022 on September 2. The full text is as follows:

According to the requirements of the Chinese Writers' Association and the Measures, the application for the application of the individual's proposal should be recommended by the provincial -level work associations and other group members. Applicants of the central and state organs should be recommended by two individual members. For applicants engaged in literary creation, one of the following applications should be met: there are no less than 3 literary works that have published independent creation in mainland China; no less than 150,000 words are published in literary journals or newspapers that have been released nationwide. There are no less than one literary works that have been published in mainland China in mainland China; literary journals or newspapers that are published in the country have published no less than 300,000 words. Member Development Application Application Approval Procedures include the online application, recommendation of group membership units, expert consultation, public announcement of the secretary office, and the announcement of the examination and approval of the secretary.

In 2022, a total of 2211 people met the application conditions for admission. The China Writing Association organized expert consultation and evaluation, and after voting, a recommendation list was produced. On August 16, the Chinese Writing Association Secretary agreed to publicize the list and consult social opinions.

After the list is publicized, it has attracted widespread attention. Among them, Jia Qianqian caused controversy. After listening to the opinions of all parties carefully, the study decided not to include Jia Qianlian on the list of new members in 2022.

This year, the Chinese Writers Association absorbed a group of outstanding writers, critics, literary editors, and literary organizers to join the meeting. Among them, 332 people under the age of 45, 228 new literature groups, and grassroots writers and literary workers exceed 70%.
