The Xuanquan Site is located at the northern foot of Sanwei Mountain in the junction of Dunhuang City and Guazhou County. The structure and postal system provides important historical witnesses. In 2001, it was announced by the State Council as the "National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit"; in 2014, one of the "Silk Road: Chang'an -Tianshan Corridor's Road Network" heritage points were included in the World Cultural Heritage List by UNESCO.
