Zhang Junfeng: North Drifting, an uncertain home / fake exhibition

Beidiao refers to people who live and work in Beijing (foreigners) from non -Beijing households. This is a huge group, and the number of people accounted for almost 40 % of the permanent population in Beijing, exceeding 8 million. Because the household registration system is a unique system in China, coupled with various reasons in politics and society, the "foreigner" obtaining Beijing hukou is simply comparable to heaven. Defirmation and various difficulties and challenges, such as the education of children, the problem of buying a house and a car.

This project starts based on the background of Beidiao and personal families. My family belongs to Beidiao and has been wandering in Beijing for more than 30 years, but has never solved the problem of hukou. Although my father is currently a homeowner of a large apartment, because the land is rented and not a personal homestead, we always have a unstable mood and faces the dilemma of being demolished by the government at any time. However, this day It is coming in 2022. When I returned to China when I graduated, my home that had lived for more than 20 years may be gone.

"We with uncertainty provides an uncertain home for the uncertain Beifu." The entire project revolves around uncertainty. Under the promotion of family experience, I interviewed 20 lives living in lives live The northern drifts of the apartment discuss the uncertainty, belonging sense, and the relationship between the community established with them. The three narrative clues about this book, "Bei Diao's voice, my father's voice as the homeowner, and the sound of architecture itself" tells a story about struggle, hope, and naked.
