However, the contemporary Chinese arts and crafts criticism neither copy the Western literary criticism system, nor can be replaced by the art criticism paradigm. This is because although arts and crafts criticism and art criticism are also based on formal aesthetic issues, the aesthetic evaluation of the two has its own focus from positions, standards to methods, and tasks. From the date of emergence of arts and crafts, it serves people's daily life and is tested by realistic efficiency. In other words, arts and crafts are inherently practical. This determines that arts and crafts criticism should focus on the practice of contemporary arts and crafts, grasp the pulse of the times, reflect the changes and needs of arts and crafts, and then promote the development of arts and crafts and theoretical research.
