This "Cixi Portrait" has exhibited outside the Summer Palace Museum and "Garden Word", but the audience does not understand the story behind the "Cixi Portrait".

According to Qin Lei, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Summer Palace, the "Cixi Portrait" of this exhibition is the oil painting copy replicated by Mr. Dai Ze in 1979. The original is the oil portrait drawn by the Dutch painter Winchi Hu Bo for the Empress Dowager Cixi of the Qing Dynasty. In the painting, Cixi sat on the throne, wearing a golden life robe, the neck was embedded with the beads, and the head was wearing jade. Butterflies, earrings pearls, holding peony and rich and expensive group fans, pointing to wearing golden guards. It is recorded in the historical archives of the garden: Cixi Oil Painting in 1933, the cultural relics of the Forbidden City moved south to Nanjing, and returned north in 1949. In the turbulent years, the portrait is yellowed, the canvas are relaxed, and there are wrinkles in many places, which need to be repaired urgently.

In order to exhibit needs, Mr. Dai Ze, who was entrusted by the Central Academy of Fine Arts, replicated a large work such as the oil painting teacher, and the original portrait was preserved properly. In 2007, the top oil painting restoration experts from the Netherlands took special equipment to the Summer Palace to repair the original Cixi portrait. At that time, Mr. Dai Ze's copy work became an important reference material for repairing the original work. The well -restored Cixi portrait was carefully protected as precious historical witnesses and important cultural relics.

With the exhibition, the Summer Palace will also jointly organize a number of aesthetic science activities with Daize Art Studio to inherit Mr. Dai Ze's art education concept. On the first day, Mr. Ningbo, a student of young painters and Mr. Dai Ze, taught Chinese painting techniques to visit the painting exhibition. During the exhibition, art history scholars, art critics, and aesthetic education experts will also bring special lectures and academic live broadcasts to the public.
